Current bands: Lock Up, Brujeria Nck Barker came to band in 1999 replacing Tjodalv. Nicolas, which leaved his original band Cradle Of Filth, played as session member with Borknagar. During this tour he met members of Dimmu Borgr and later, when they needed drummer, he joined the band. On following succesfull album Puritanical Euphoric Misanthropia his contribution was very significant. Nicolas' Expressive ultra fast and technical drums kicked up Dimmu Borgir style. On next album Death Cult Armageddon his work isn't such marked, but still superior. Not long after relase of this album, in the begginig of 2004, Nick was kicked from the band. Australian guitarist Astennu was signed on only as a session member at first. He played second guitar at Enthrone Darkness Triuphant tour. Band was content with him and soon he became full-value member. His brilliant guitar art enriched next Dimmu Borgir album Spiritual Black Dimmensions. But Astennu's enthusiasm for band faded. In year 2000, when Dimmu Borgir worked on new album, Astennu was fired. Now he plays in two Australian formations - melodic death metallers Infernal Method and hardcore band Stronger Than Hate.

Tjodalv is one of the three Dimmu Borgir founder members. In the same year (1993), he also founded Old Man's Child with Galder (who seven years later and after Tjodalv's departure joined Dimmu Borgir). On first Dimmu Borgir album, Tjodalv played quitar, then he changed it for drums. After six years and four full-lenght albums, in year 1999, Tjodalv decided to leave the band. Main reason was his diverse view on music, but he also had some family troubles at that time. Already in 1998, Tjodalv founded band called Seven Sins (afterwards Susperia). He wanted to play more simple and straight-lined music.

Stian Aarstad - keyboards
|
Member: 1994-1997
Next former band: Enthral
Keyboardist Stian Aarstad joined the band before recording of first album For All Tid. On Dimmu Borgir albums, especially For All Tid and Stormblast, his amazing keyborad and piano parts are one of the band's main signs. Interest is, that he didn't recorded keyboards on EP Devil's Path, because had some business in army that time. On Enthrone Darkness Triumphant tour, he had problems with playing and he was fired. For the rest of tour was found session keyboardist Kimberley Goss.
